SURPRISE FOR MYSELF
Living between America and Turkey, the owner of the apartment created an interior remotely with the help of Interior Design Bureau by Alena Bulataya, who took full control of the construction. This apartment, in fact, came as a surprise for the owner herself, as she decided to move into right after the decoration is ready.
The aim of the designer was to create a cozy and laconic interior that corresponds to the owner’s lifestyle, who lives in several countries at the same time. Thanks to the well-chosen layout, Alena Bulataya managed to let maximum light and air into the apartment, as well as organize a common area for different occasions, whether it is a family dinner or a noisy party with friends.

DESIGN CHALLENGES
The main desire of a young client was to create an open space, an isolated sleeping area with a private bathroom and a separate guest room for friends to stay in.
In addition to these areas, the apartment is ergonomically equipped with a dressing room, a guest bathroom and a laundry, hidden from the guests eyes behind mirrored partitions and hidden doors.
COMMON SPACE
The common space combines an entrance hall, a living room and a kitchen that flow into each other, as well as a glazed balcony with a view of the city.
DESIGN RESULTS
Initially, the interior was intended to be laconic and tranquil, but during the working process it acquired additional colors, textures and combinations of materials. Keeping its minimalistic image, the space can be called saturated with bright elements that attract attention and stand out a bit against the background of neutral walls painted in a languid ecru.

The starry sky on the ceiling forms a zodiac sign of the client, and the neon sign on the wall is nothing but memories of the time spent in America. The abundance of lighting in the furniture and ceiling creates an intimate atmosphere in the evening, and a variety of plants mentally transport us to Arizona and to the Tropics. Picturesque white beauty marble on the kitchen island supports the floral theme as well. The Dutch moooi carpet with a bright print has become one of the main accents of this space, linking a large number of shades, furniture and decor into a single ensemble.

LOVE OF CONTEMPORARY ART
Experiencing a mutual interest in contemporary art, the common solution of the designer and the client was to integrate paintings and art objects into the interior. Thus, several canvases, sculptures and photographs found their place in different areas of the apartment. For example, a pop art painting with Kate Moss adorns one of the walls, created according to the designer’s draft and painted by one of the Belarusian artists. There is a large bright photo with a portrait of the client herself in the living room. In the entrance hall, guests are greeted by a sculpture of Apollo, splattered with bright paint, thus creating a harmonious composition together with a fuchsia chair.
